While perusing through 2pnews.com today while she should have been in a meeting to discuss an upcoming land sale, Trisha McPuddington stumbled upon a new link near the top-left of the website called Submit an article. As curious as a cheshire cat in a new environment, Trisha clicked on the link and she was taken to a page with a simple interface that allowed her to submit her own article to the wildly popular satirical news website.

I really like this new feature that the geniuses behind Proved Plus Probable Weekly News have put together. All I did was click on the “Submit an article” link and then filled in a few simple fields. It didn’t ask for my first or last name.

All it required was an email address so that I could receive an email confirming that the article has been approved and is now published. And that email address was not even published. In fact, if I don’t care to receive a confirmation email, I could have just typed in a bogus email address and all would have been good – anonymity is great.

Within 24 hours of submitting her article, having to do with a drilling rig incident that somehow turned into an amusement ride, Trisha received an email from Proved Plus Probable indicating that the article had gone through the editorial process and was now published on the site.

This feature was implemented on this site due to feedback from some users that they’d like to be able to contribute their own articles and ideas. The editorial team at Proved Plus Probable believe that the Submit an article feature will help supply the site with external content that would have otherwise been overlooked.

This new feature will enable all sorts of synergies between my editorial team and our visitors. It will ensure that Proved Plus Probable will continue to evolve within an environment that considers ideas from not only us, but the greater public. I am sure that it will be used frequently and quite effectively. I look forward to measuring and reporting on its response.
