2P News is a very serious, extremely professional, completely legitimate newspaper-adjacent news source that courageously reports on the oil and gas industry, politics, and the noble sport of existing in downtown Calgary without losing your will to live.
While we primarily operate in Calgary, we also maintain a powerful presence in a Houston, Texas, field office which we opened in Q3 2015 after discovering that a weak Canadian dollar makes our material 37% funnier when converted to USD. Our long-term expansion plan includes other global energy hubs, as well as Jupiter, several moons of Saturn, and one emotionally unavailable asteroid.
This site was founded by a loose coalition of downtown oil and gas professionals who stared too long into the fluorescent abyss of office lighting and began documenting what they saw. What started as “observations” quickly devolved into “this has to be said” and eventually into whatever this is now.
We occasionally accept story ideas from readers, which we will absolutely take credit for if they’re good. If they’re bad, we will pretend we never received them. Please use the “Contact Us” link if you wish to take that risk.
All articles, people, and companies mentioned are entirely fictitious, except when they’re not, in which case they are satirically adjusted until legally confusing. Any resemblance to real events is purely coincidental, inevitable, and probably deserved.
