HOUSTON, Texas – The current state of the oil and gas industry leaves a lot to be desired.  Plagued by not only demand and supply concerns, the industry faces the largest uphill environmental and political battle in its history.  To the upper echelons of international governments, moving petroleum resources around the world has been a key factor that no one can ignore.

Enter AeroOil and their revolutionary PetroNano technology.  Founded firmly by a group of science fiction Comicon addicts, AeroOil has taken next generation nano technology to extreme heights, using marble-sized “nano tankers” to haul oil through the air one centilitre at a time.

The NanoPetro drones have the potential to revolutionize the industry.  They are GPS fenced, remote operated, and hive-programmed to remain in a tight group as they fly.

The drones can reach altitudes of 25,000 feet safely and are compliant with all ground based flight control towers around the world, so as not to interfere with airlines and military air traffic.

While it might seem odd to rely on a buzzing, whirring cloud of remote control spots to move oil around the world, it is fairly safe.  In the event of a flight failure, the cargo remains intact inside of each drone and can be recovered with netting or ground crews.

The NanoPetro project would see large scale manufacturing of the drones as early as 2017 if the pilot goes as expected.

Costs are estimated to be double the cost of the planned Keystone Pipeline to move the same volume of oil per day, requiring nearly 10 billion NanoPetro drones.  However, the cost of expansion once control systems are in place is minimal.  At a cost of roughly $20 billion, the program could potentially move all of the oil in major North American pipelines alone.  The benefits are amazing.
